Michelle W. Jones, CAE, CMP

Vice President of Meeting Planning

Michelle brings 30 years of meetings, events, and association management experience to JEMS. She began working in Washington, DC, in 1991, and spent 10 years with the United States Energy Association.  It was with USEA that she developed her interest in meeting planning.  She spent two years as a corporate planner with Quadel Consulting before returning to the association world, working for the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), the National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (NAILBA), and The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). Most recently, she spent nine years as the Director of Convention & Meeting Services for the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI).

Michelle earned the Certified Meetings Professional (CMP) designation in 2002, and the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2019.  She has been an active member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE); and, is a 20-year member of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), where she has served at both the chapter and HQ levels.

Michelle is an alum of James Madison University—as is her son—now in the U.S. Army. She enjoys cooking, traveling, riding a Harley-Davidson, and cheering for Tampa Bay’s professional sports teams.
